SUNDAY OCTOBER 12th 2008: This is my first-ever blog. Acting on the advice of my best friend Greg Day, who knows about these things since he's a publicist, I've decided to close down biffo.net and concentrate on nicholas-whittaker.com - in an all-out bash at self-promotion (and possibly finding some work!) Yesterday we went to Alexandra Park. It was my first visit, and while I was prepared for the view I wasn't prepared for the hoards of old ladies visiting the Knitting & Sewing Show. It added a rather surreal touch to the occasion. Whilst full of metropolitan feelgood, we decided it would be nice if our two families had Xmas dinner together and plumped for The Raglan Hotel in Muswell Hill, where the £50 menu includes UNLIMITED punch! Looking for a definition of hell - try Sainsbury's in Muswell Hill on a Sunday afternoon. A rather hysterical mix of yummy mummies, doting daddies - and far too many posh push-chairs. When did parents start to force their children into the shopping imperative? It's just not the right place for children, this irritable activity should be left to the grown-ups and hidden away from children until they really have to become part of it.
