Beryl's Boy is the remarkable inspirational story of one young woman's struggle to bring up her "illegitimate" son in the still-disapproving days of the Fifties and Sixties. It's a brave decision. Rejected by her own parents and with few loyal friends, it's only her self-sacrificing mother love that keeps her going as she struggles to combine work, housekeeping and parenthood. She copes admirably, yet there are plenty of who rush to judgment whenever she stumbles. "Failing? Not coping? Maybe ECT will help..."

Despite all the obstacles Beryl did it. This is one child's eulogy to his own mother, to all that was best about  childhood in the Fifties/Sixties, followed by a Seventies coming-of-age. And, most of all, to the powerful emotions that inspire good people to pass on their values to another generation...
